Privacy Policy for Echoes of Eta

1. Information We Collect

a) Data You Provide

  • Email address you voluntarily submit (e.g. to receive updates, news, or promotional content).

b) Action Logging

  • Metadata from interactions with website elements like “share”, “YouTube”, “Patreon”, and “Discord” buttons—no personal identifiers unless you log in to those platforms.

c) Automatic Technical & Session Data via Wix
Wix automatically places essential cookies and processes session and technical data to operate the site. This includes IP address, browser version, device type, sort of traffic events, session IDs, performance metrics, and security tokens (e.g. XSRF‑TOKEN, svSession, fedops.logger.sessionId).

2. How We Use Data

  • Deliver newsletter and promotional emails (with opt‑in consent).

  • Interactions to understand engagement—solely via anonymised metadata.

  • Provide secure website hosting and content delivery via Wix’s infrastructure.

  • Use anonymised logging for site reliability, performance, and debugging.

3. Legal Basis for Processing

  • Consent: Mandatory for receiving marketing emails (e.g. newsletter opt‑in).

  • Legitimate Interests or Contract: Applicable to essential Wix session data collection (e.g. site operation, security, analytics).

  • Wix as Data Processor: Wix processes technical data under our instructions per their DPA and standard contractual clauses.

4. Cookies & Tracking

  • Essential Cookies: Wix sets cookies automatically to allow core functionality (security, session authentication, rendering, performance)—including svSession, hs, TS*, _wixAB3, and more.

  • No Non‑Essential Cookies Used: We do not activate any third-party analytics, marketing, or tracking scripts or apps. Wix may collect data that cannot be disabled from our end.

  • Consent Banner Not Required: Since no non‑essential cookies are used, the Consent Banner is not required from our side. If non‑essential cookies are added in the future, we will support a cookie banner via Usercentrics to obtain consent before loading them.

5. Data Sharing & Transfers

  • We do not sell any personal data.

  • Wix may transfer data globally, including outside the EEA/UK, under GDPR-compliant mechanisms (e.g. SCCs) established in their DPA.

  • Personal data (like emails) may be shared with email delivery providers you instruct us to use—under contractual controls.

6. Data Retention

  • Email addresses: Retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion.

  • Interaction metadata & session logs: Retained by Wix per platform policy, anonymized or purged after use (commonly after 6–12 months via session cookies like fedops.logger.sessionId).

7. Data Subject Rights

Per GDPR, UK‑GDPR, CCPA, and other applicable laws, users may:

  • Request access to their personal data.

  • Request correction or erasure (“right to be forgotten”).

  • Withdraw consent or restrict processing.

  • Request data portability.

  • For California residents: request that personal data not be sold. Although we do not sell data, Wix provides mechanisms to enable a “Do Not Sell” link if required.

You can submit requests via general@echoesofeta.com, and we will fulfil them promptly using Wix’s built-in privacy tools (e.g., consent log export, data export, deletion workflows).

8. Children’s Privacy

We do not knowingly collect personal data from users under:

  • 13 years old (US, COPPA),

  • 16 years old (EU).

If we become aware of data collected from a child without verified parental consent, we will delete it immediately. Forms that collect information (e.g. newsletter signup) include an age-gate or consent checkbox as needed.

9. Security

  • Wix provides SSL encryption, DDoS protection, secure backups, and editor-level access controls.

  • We enforce additional protections (e.g. limited access, usage of encrypted internal tools) to safeguard data and comply with data protection standards.

10. Policy Updates

We may update this policy due to legal changes or new features. Each change will display a new Effective Date. For material updates, we will notify users (e.g. via email or banner).
